Innovation in Modern Business Education
At the University of California, Berkeley, Miaad M. Bushala helped create a new model for business education by co-creating and co-teaching Artistry and Entrepreneurship: Taylor’s Version, a course designed to make business concepts more accessible to students from all academic backgrounds.
Using Taylor Swift’s career as a case study, the course explored topics such as branding, marketing, customer acquisition and retention, finance, economics, philanthropy, and entrepreneurship. By combining lessons from both business and the arts, the initiative demonstrated how modern leaders and organizations build influence, create value, and drive innovation.
The course quickly gained national attention, earning coverage from CBS News and other media outlets while being featured across University of California, Berkeley, and Haas School of Business platforms. Its success highlighted growing interest in innovative approaches to business education that connect real-world examples with entrepreneurial learning.
For Miaad M. Bushala, the initiative reflects a broader belief that business education should be engaging, accessible, and relevant to students from every discipline. It also demonstrates how universities can evolve alongside the industries, ideas, and cultural influences shaping the future.
